What You'll Do:.

  • Web-backend development in ML/AI space: design, build and maintain microservices and APIs that forms the middle-tier and backend of the Customer Growth Platform, Brightloom’s user-facing web application and support ML/AI tools

  • REST API best practices: incorporate comprehensive knowledge of REST best practices to ensure these services are optimally leveraged by frontend and data engineering efforts, with a vision of a public-facing API that supports customer integration with  enhanced scalability, maintainability, and performance

  • Engineering excellence: ensure everything you write is following standards, well tested, automated and documented, so we can continuously release our changes

  • Ownership: think about software architecture, system operations, and providing value to business while solving problems and writing code

  • Team engagement: participate in planning and retrospectives; establish a technical community with peers that empowers career growth

  • Cross-functional partnership: collaborate with Front-end Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering and Product Management colleagues on technical vision and goals

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience in design, development and best practices for REST API, microservices and distributed systems

  • Proficient in Python for production-level service coding and testing that meet industry standards

  • Strong experience in integrating with third-party APIs in a use case of data-intensive input or output

  • Experience with SQL and relational database for defining data schema and enabling CRUD operations

  • Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and container technology for service deployment and orchestration

  • Experience with AWS or similar modern cloud infrastructure

  • General knowledge of CI/CD automation and system observability

  • Having an undergraduate degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in a startup

  • Experience with developing LLM- or ML-powered web applications and upstream dependencies such as vector database and NoSQL approaches

  • Experience with Databricks or similar data platform

  • Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code tools

  • Basic knowledge of DevOps best practices on a modern cloud

  • Having passion for what you do and don't mind showing it off

About Us:

At Brightloom, we are working to create meaningful relationships between people and the brands they love. Our Customer Growth Platform (CGP) offers a first-of-its-kind SaaS approach to automated AI-driven, predictive personalization. Previously, these types of capabilities were exclusive to larger brands who have entire teams of people focused on marketing and customer analytics. The CGP is built upon proprietary models that show and tell brands what to do next, so they don’t have to hire teams to build models, guess at rules, run experiments, and then interpret the results. The CGP models do this work, so the marketer doesn’t have to. We’re obsessed with taking something that’s really hard, complicated, and expensive and turning it into a service that’s simple and affordable for all consumer brands, not just industry leaders.

What We Offer:

  • Salary of $125,000

  • Fun, creative and collaborative remote work environment

  • Wellness Wednesday- weekly afternoon of flex time to be offline/meeting free

  • Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Coverage

  • Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability

  • Flexible Spending Account & Health Savings Account

  • Unlimited PTO

Building a diverse and inclusive workplace is a core tenet of our culture. Brightloom is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability and protected veterans status or any other characteristic protected by law.
